This made me smile. Everyone shoudl have a friend like that. one that doesnt only keep you from going backwards but one that also will push you foreward and make you laugh.

I like how you gave a little more insight about the father/soon to be ex.

Ending with the changing weather was beautiful. I was lucky enough to read this series while sitting next to a large window while it rained outside.

To explain the ending, it was raining outside the diner in the first story.. so I ended it with some sun. I think if you read it as a stand-alone ficly, you get that Kathy just made a speech to the whole diner, with her climbing off the table and the patrons awkwardly not clapping.
