What I have to say is that I lived in Arizona for three years and I don’t remember rain, not that I’m saying it doesn’t happen!

I lived in Arizona for a year and a half, Tucson specifically, and we had monsoons every year. Maybe it’s a regional thing. They certainly stuck out in my mind.

You make the sentence “He walked down the street in the rain” so very much more interesting. I like the way you described the tendrils of steam rising from the asphalt.

We lived in Phoenix… I don’t know if that’s different, but I remember scorching heat and cacti and going in the pool as soon as I got home from school.

well i liked this story. the only critic i could see was that it didnt meet the ficlet stand alone test. but there is no rule saying it has to. nice story.

Haha, I read too much sci-fi, by the fact he wondered at the domesticity of suburbia I wondered if he was from elsewhere in time (yeh yeh reading too much into it I know)
