Golden Death
My heart raced as I finally saw it. Twelve long hard years of searching and it was mine, all MINE! I raced down the rocky slope into the pit. I dived head first into the large mound of gold. I grabbed a handful of coins and let it run over me. My heart raced faster and faster and I began to laugh. Those fools back home laughed at me, said the treasure was just a myth, well whose laughing now you lazy buggers. My heart beat faster and faster. I felt clenching pain in my chest. I kept going wade through the gold. My breath started coming in short rasps. I collapsed to my knees still grabbing at the gold till my last breath.
