It’s good, but possibly a little confused by the use of the term “ransom demands”.

You can’t ransom a dead guy, so reading ransom demands and then slitting his throat doesn’t hang together. I would suggest dropping the word ransom but if you wanted to replace it with another six letter word to maintain the length, perhaps something like “insane” would work? Or unreal? They read the insane demands? Something other than ransom anyway.

Captors, perhaps.

interesting piece, i’ve seen several of these types of videos first hand, it was my job at the time, it’s rough stuff and you captured it very well. brings the images right back.
