Me? This is clearly about what we wish for you, our hero! :P
You know I’m a closet superdreamfollower, and I whip out my cape even in the midst of the average life. So I do both. ha!

I sort of get the feeling that he chose art not because that’s what I want him to pick but because it’s his life work. It’s what he knows best. Finding a good job is more difficult than just trying especially without experience or desire. He could spend his whole life trying to find a decent job. And have wasted his life away. Though, yes, one can do both.

So if he’s hasn’t finished any art pieces and doesn’t have a job, what is he doing all day? ;) I’d suggest get to making more art. And then hustle. :)

In my head I thought he’d pick the gamble, because he’ll only get that one shot at life.

Anyways, this is a great story that I can really relate to. I like it lots. :)

We writers seem to be hopeless hopefuls, unwilling to give up the dream, because we didn’t define the dream, we were defined by the dream.

I know this sounds crazy .. but can’t we write AND work at other jobs? My own creativity is low when I’m stressed out by practical needs ..

My creativity is drained by my real job.

I wish I could have no other job but to write.

Of course, I’d still spend 98% of my time wasting time.

Me too, but as some famous guy, James Norman Hall, says, “Loafing is the most productive part of a writer’s life.”
