Hunter: Breaking Bones
“If we break it again it can set properly. If we just let it set the way it is now, you won’t walk right again.” Without any warning, he grabbed my leg. I screamed. One of those horror movie screams. Mack was behind me, I could feet him there, and it was a good thing too, because my vision turned red and I was struggling in my chair to get to Jason, who had just… snapped my leg in half.
Mack had his hands on my shoulders and was hauling back against the chair to keep me in it, and I tired myself out quickly, though Jason almost got kicked in the face twice, and he did get kicked in the stomach. He held my leg straight, and then he took two pieces of wood, about the same length as my calf, and stuck them on either side. Tying them in place, he looked up at me. “Don’t try to stand.” I really wanted to, and I tried, but… I couldn’t. Mack and Jason put me back on Mack’s bed, and then Tim came rushing in with a needle. Jason nodded, and Tim pricked my arm with it. Everything slowly faded as I just lay there.
