Surrendipity
“Wow, Cap’n!” exclaimed Dex, “You sure have a knack for finding enemy germ missile silos on this completely unrelated trek across the stomach. You sure are serendipitous!”
Heat rising beneath his skin, Captain Harold Carter turned on his foot, drew his pistol and shot Dex. “Nobody calls me surrenderous! Nobody!”
Dex’s brother Rex ran to where his body lay. Doc ran in as well. Doc exclaimed to the platoon, taking note of the germ blood seeping from the hole in his white disguise, “He was a germ spy!”
“Wow!” Rex commented, “You really are serendipitous!”
Not even thinking about the fact that Rex was Dex, the germ’s brother, Carter raised his pistol. “What did you say?”
