Caring?
Arash yawned heavily as he sat on the dirty floor. It was a hot day and all the other orphans were working hard. Arash was indoors watching the only TV the shelter had managed to buy. It was broken and the color was gone. Arash had one of his roommates to do his chores outside in exchange for his next meal. He stood in front of the TV hearing about another Christian missionary getting shot. After feeling disturbed, he went back to the room he shared with 12 people. He jumped on the bed a little and laid down. Suddenly, he heard his roommates calling to him. He ran outside and people were talking to the other boys. They were talking about how God was so merciful and how Jesus had died for them. Arash boiled. “If God cares so much then how come we’re here?” He asked irately. “God will allow a person to go through the worst circumstances, to get the person to know how much he cares for them. To know that he’s here for you. All you need to do is believe him.” Said one of the missionaries. Arash turned away.
