The Woman in the Red Dress
She fiddled with her dangling earrings and cleared her throat. She was beautiful. She had short black hair, cut like a boy’s, but still cute. And she was going to be mine. Suddenly, a disturbed facial expression came across her face. Like she just realized what she was saying. She suddenly stood up. “That’s not what I meant. I meant, I don’t know you that well. How the hell do you expect me to be your girlfriend?” She said tersely. “I’m sorry, I just saw you and I- I just kinda wanted to be with you.” I said nervously. “Well, life doesn’t work that way.” She said kind of harshly. “I’m sorry. You can leave if you want to. I just wanted to get to know you.” I told her. She left me sitting at the table. Alone. About 5 minutes later, she came back. “I’m sorry. I just- feel weird doing this. I mean, here I was dumb enough to come here with you, but I feel like I can trust you a little. It’s so-” She stopped. I smiled. “I’m sorry for coming off like a creepy stalker. I just wanted to get to know you.” I told her.
