She was now a part of a larger force. A rebel group fighting against invaders from a land removed from this place. It didn’t take much time to learn the story.
Lives lost, blood spilled,it was all the same recorded song. Her inquiries about her current whereabouts, a fruitless pursuit.
Dates were only measured from one “event” to the other. The exact year had been lost when Earth had first been cleansed. The results of a devastating loss, or something worse.
She could not be sure.
32 years after First Contact, 15 years before the First Conflict, and 3 years after the last War. The closest thing to a date. All the members of this particular Earth kept journals, a way of personally tracking history, their collective memories, eradicated every few years. Her home, a now distant memory, she accepted her fate. Days turned into weeks, every day, a new fight. A shorter life.
She remembered Marks. Remembered running away from John. His warning of the Traveler.
