Me and Leroy
Me and Leroy have been friends for over thirty years. We have done almost everything together. That’s why when I bought my big rig I asked Leroy to get his C.D.L. and start driving with me. We have seen it all. I thought, until last night. We were coming down Wolf Creek Pass, which up on The Great Divide. Wolf Creek Pass is just about wide enough for a tractor and trailer, and has curves you could meet yourself while going around them. Not to mention about a three hundred foot drop on either side. Leroy was asleep. I had just come out of a sweeping right hand curve, which I used both sides of the road for, when I saw the biggest, blackest dog I have ever seen in my life in the middle of the road. I swerved, and hit the brakes and jackknifed through the guardrail. As we fell I reached over and woke up Leroy. Why, you might ask did I wake up Leroy. Well, Leroy and I have been together for over thirty years, and he ain’t never seen no wreck like we are going to have tonight.
