The Fall of Grey-Fang
Grey-Fang tried to concentrate but thoughts kept getting in the way. This was the murderer who had ordered the destruction of his people. Yes, a far-off Emperor had decreed this land his and ordered it taken, but it was this man, this bald giant who’d been ultimately responsible. He had chosen war and now it was time to repay him in kind.
His soul cried out for vengeance and a thousand other voices joined theirs with his. Without regard for his own safety, Grey-Fang leaped straight at the huge general. So quick was he, that the general only had time to raise his sword in defense. The giant blade skewered him through the middle and he gasped in pain.
General Dhava smirked. “I expected more from you than that. Impress me.”
Pulling himself deeper, Grey-Fang forced himself to slide further down the General’s blade until they were face to face. “The debt is paid.”
Axes fell as one, severing the General’s head from his neck.
Both warriors died within moments of each other, and each content in their own way.
