A True Friend's Embrace-- Glow and Grow Them as the Sun Has Done

It’s fun
To wonder
Under the sun
Until the day is done

It feels right to welcome
What becomes the night
Turning on not a light bulb
Only letting palpable
Fretting dissolve
Naturally like the earth revolves
Actually alive enough to evolve
And all of
What once
Was a problem
Falls
Caught in the hands of resolve
That sought
With eyes
Like a soothing salve
Fuming what enthralls
One to keep moving
Instilling, blooming,
What’s filling
Your loves when they stall
At home in stone
Chisel them from being alone
With a simple call
And say
You’ll always
Be there
No matter where
They are feeling small
Glow and grow them tall
Higher than their wishing star
Say that you’re never too far
To reach and touch
When you soon meet
And tears of joy rush
Say “I’m your boy” and they know as much
Because you’re the first person to brush
Off the dust when it settles and worsens
To a crust of mud and dirt
Getting into the cracks and cuts that hurt
Settle into my arms of visceral charms
That are real—
They’ll cleanly disarm
And heal.
