This Earth Sucks
Come on, New Las Vegas! I pull the lever on the Multi-Dimensional Shifter and hope for the best. Reality around me fizzles into millions of blurred lines; I don’t know how the Shifter works, but it does. Fields of green grass begin to come into focus in front of me as the Shifter drops what I figure is called its “dimensional anchor”.
I’ve been shifting dimensions for what I figure has been weeks, but I haven’t found what I’m looking for. All I know is that I’m still on Earth – but when or where, I don’t have any control over that. Not yet, anyway. I’m still hopeful that I’ll be able to puzzle that bit out.
I found it the first time I pulled the lever. Beautiful casinos, women, and bright lights. It was unlike anything I had ever seen. For some reason I got it in my head that I would be able to find it again, while I look for more lucrative resorts.
No such luck this time. Empty green fields all around.
“Yeah,” I say to nobody, “this Earth sucks.” I pull the lever, and reality fades away again.
