The Hedge

Shear Vision Inc. had sent out one of their junior roboticists, Henry Willhelm, to survey the damage. However, instead of the mess he had been prepared for, he actually found a masterpiece.

“This… this is actually pretty cool. I mean, it’s an elephant with butterfly wings,” said Henry as he squinted at the alleged disaster. “And, is that a pig riding it?”

Shear Vision Inc. was the leading maker of hedge-trimming robots. The robots were capable of trimming any bush or shrubbery into whatever shape their owner specified. Well, until some of the robots started creating hedge critters that their owners didn’t want.

Henry turned to another Shear Vision Inc. employee on the scene.
“What did you do with the malfunctioning unit?” asked Henry.
“We disposed of it, just like we do with all rogue units,” replied the man.
“I see,” said Henry, “that’s a shame. What did its owner originally want?”
“He wanted a sculpture of an elephant with butterfly wings, with he himself riding on it.”

Henry laughed long and hard.
