Hehe, it’s usually the other way round for me with the internets, have a decent idea, then spend 4 hours at TVTropes and forget it.

I have the same thing; the urge to create something, yet no idea to create with. It’s incredibly frustrating! However, looks like you found a way around it!

Yet look at what you created thanks to your “lack or inspiration” ! We all deal with this dilemma in our own ways. I wrote a story similar to this one not long ago for the same reasons: lack of motivation, inspiration, fighting distractions.
