But the eye, how does the younger version know that the older only has one eye? All the information he has at this point is that one eye is covered with cloth. The younger version could just be guessing, but it’s a bit of a leap to me.

The dude’s got the same face is how. The older version has a few differences which he goes into detail on but he wouldn’t describe what his own face looks like.
