Nice introduction of the protagonist to blood and hunger. Her reactions are visceral, yet she retains enough self-awareness to wonder about the ramifications.

I think “Lorelei” is cool. Very vampirish and victorian.

You painted the characters very well. Without even reading the prequel, I already got an idea of what they were like. Nice! :)

Gave me a Dexter-ish imagery with the plastic sheets; not a bad thing, since it helped fill in the blanks. I also think Lorelei is just fine.

The one line did make me think what kind of addictions our protagonist might have had before…

“Like hunger, thirst, lust and need all rolled into one” I felt it, and I’ve never felt a vampire story before. I like your tone here, too, it attracted me without trying to beat me over the head with them being vampires. :) Nice work.

Gorgeous, and I love the growing characterizations. The gleeful attitude of the guy and her attitude in response is perfect for the feared cavalier attitude towards murder.

After Cally Beck’s bit I’ve added one more sequel to the tail bringing it just about to the precipice of the ending I’d mentioned earlier.
