American Idle
“Have you seen this week’s Idol?” Kristin screeched at her friend across the lunchroom table.
“Our cable got shut off a few weeks ago. I haven’t seen any TV in awhile” replied Madison. Her soft blond curls light as clouds as she shook her accessory adorned skull from side to side.“I’ve been thinking of picking up one of those books I keep hearing about. Not like, you know, the ones we have to read in class, ’cause those totally suck, but like, ones that are good.”
“Oh…. so you haven’t been watching it online? Don’t you want to have something in common with us? God, its like you want to live in a cave or something.” Kristin motioned to her lackeys and the group left en masse.
Madison would have grown sour about the abandonment, but lacked the capacity. She tucked her nose into a Twilight novel and sipped her skinny water until the lunch bell rang and signaled her return to class.
