...And The Universe Kissed Back
So this is what love tasted like. Tangy hot sweetness burst into a super nova through her mind and body, zig-zagging like strange quarks, up, down and sideways, not here and not there.
She had traveled through parallel worlds, survived asteroid belts and witnessed light being consumed by super massive black holes. She had held a spark of hope to her breast with a star’s dense gravity, strong, small and cherished.
She carried scars from breaking her captor’s cold, heavy chains. Her skin still crawled and her bone marrow hadn’t stoped quaking from battling dark creatures that had hunted and craved her tender flesh. They had gone hungry but oh, she had not.
All her blood, all her lonely tears had been spilt in sacrificing rivers. Then at last, unbelievably at last, she felt renewed, refilled by her lover’s radiant obsidian eyes.
He replaced that small hope now, clutched in her arms. Strong, big and cherished.
She kissed her reason to live, her lover, her breath, her heart…and the universe kissed back.
