Regrets
You need to understand something.
I never meant for anyone to die.
I know that what we tried to accomplish usually has… what’s that phrase? You know, the one which politicians and generals love so much? Oh yeah, collateral damage.
I never thought that would happen to us. Somehow, I always believed we’d pull it off without any civilian casualties. Yeah, I know. I mean, how naïve is that, right?
Hey, we were young. We were stupid. We were ready to save the world, God help us.
I suppose I should start this at the beginning.
It all began on a cold night in Russia. We were drinking a lot (when in Rome, do as the Romans do) and so I can’t say it was the best idea I’d ever had when I decided to dance the waltz.
And of all the partners I could have picked, I probably shouldn’t have chosen Death.
Don’t get me wrong, she was pretty hot. But you know what they say…
“If you’re going to dance with Death, you’d better know the steps.”
