One cool autumn day; deep in the wood, a wise ol’ owl approached three rabbits.

“You should thank your father,” said the owl to the littlest one, “for giving you food, every day.”

“Yeahbut,” said the rabbit, “he makes me to eat my vegetables.”

The next day; very deep in the wood, the same wise owl approached the same three rabbits.

“You should tell your mother you love her,” said the owl to the littlest one, “every night, no matter what.”

“Yeahbut,” said the rabbit, “she sent me to bed without dessert.”

The very next day; so very deep in the wood, the same old owl approached the three— same rabbits.

“Will you thank your father?” asked the owl. “Will you tell your mother, you love her?”

“Yeahbut,” said the rabbit, “I haven’t felt like it yet.”

“Well that’s too bad,” said the wise and hungry old owl.
