As he stood there looking at her, he was not sure what to do, well he knew what to do but he was not sure he wanted to do it. Her back was against the wall and she wore her jumperr off one shoulder.

“Are we going to do it or not,” she demanded.

At 16 he was scared, he suddenly felt like a little boy, the pressure of his peers and his own feelings of helplessness and fear battled in his mind. He wasn’t ready.

“I forgot to bring protection” he said hopeful that this might save him from the act and the embarrassment of failing to act.

“you don’t need protection you cant get pregnant standing up” she said.

It was a time when AIDS was a relatively new term and there had been a lot of television and news articles about it, pregnancy was the least of his worries he decided. His seemingly immature mind made a very mature decision at that point. No way in hell was this happening with this girl. She was the immature one to him. He suffered the humiliation of being frigid among his peers, he was mature.
