A land of Believers [Part 3]

“How long do you plan on staying?” The man asked

“3 days” Kino replied

“Very well” The man pressed a button and the gates shifted open. He gave Kino a badge before she went.

She stepped through the gates which revealed a small town. It wasn’t particularly advanced compared to the other countries she had visited. But it had a quaint feel and was adequate to rest in. The man had handed her a map, she looked at it.

“So where shall we go first?” Hermes asked
“Well it was a long journey, i’d prefer it if we went to the restaurant first. Then we can sort out where to sleep”

Hermes agreed and they followed the map to a restaurant. From the outside it looked plain. No features stood out, and it looked the same as most of the other buildings around. Nethertheless she entered. Inside was as she expected. It was plain too, the windows let in light from the oil lamps outside which poured into the room like liquid. Everyone seemed content, and it was hard to find someone who wasn’t smiling.
