A land of believers [Part 14]
As Kino ran into the main hall of the church she noticed the anger in everyones faces. They were only villagers but many were holding pitchforks, a few carried weapons but made no attempt to attack her. She quickly ran to the door, dodging the occasional hand that attempted to grab her. She made it outside and ran towards Hermes.
“Get on!” he cried. Kino soon did, and started his engine. A handful of villagers stood outside and a few of them threw stones at her, although none of them managed to land a hit. She sped towards the gate and made it just in time.
“Hold it right there!” a voice came from the side of her. It was the young man that worked as an immigration officer.
“Just what do you think you’re doing!?” He said, as a grin came over his face. Kino soon realised he picked up a shotgun and began to aim it at her.
“Checking out.” She replied, as she aimed cannon at his head and finished him in one clean shot. The side of the cabin where he worked was painted in blood.
