After we’d rested long enough for our aching muscles to unstiffen a little bit, we decided it was time to leave for 2042 again, before we accidentally fell asleep and got caught by random denisens of 1999.
So, we linked our arms, and Zoe did her new thing…

Back in New York, 2042, me and Zoe were waiting outside the cafe’ across the street from our apartment block, scoping out the front door, waiting for the other her and me.

You see, here’s the thing.

Paradoxes are bad.

And they’re a total mind-fuckeroo.

So figuring out the technicalities of this possible paradox gave me a blinding headache, but I boiled it down to this: as long as Other Us didn’t see Actual Us, we could all exist on the same timeline.

(Also, after my experience with my Multiples, I figured that maybe us time travellers had the capability to exist alongside multiple versions of ourselves, cos that shit was bound to happen eventually, and obviously, it did.)

So, we sipped our coffees, and we waited…
