Back in the Apartment...Finally (Superhero Black Hole, part 92)

I closed the apartment door behind me.

Zoe moved to the window to look out onto the street.
“OK, I see us, now.”

“Are we at the car,” I asked.

“We’re getting in…you’re starting the engine…aaaaand…we’ve driven off.”

“Fantastic. Now we’re on our way to get ambushed, shot at, rained on, and do this whole thing all over again. We’re in a never-ending loop.” I sighed exasperatedly.

The albino chipped in.
“As time-travellers, this is bound to happen from time to time.”

Zoe turned from the window to the pale man sitting at our desk. “Pun intended?”

“Zoe, I’m not sure Silas here knows what a pun is.”

She gave me that look again.
Silas? That’s the name you’re going for? You’re going for a Da Vinci Code reference, now?”

“You got a better name for him?”

Without a moment’s hesitation, she said: “How about Al?”

I rolled my eyes. “You’ve given this some thought, haven’t you?”

The albino – now christened as Al – coughed for attention.

“I think we have more important matters to discuss.”
