Home Away From Home (Superhero Black Hole, part 103)

“I’m getting to grips with this now…I think,” Zoe said with a slight air of irritability. “But, what does this other universe do? Or, what can Lettie do with it?”

Al chimed in again. “It is a metaphysical anomaly within the fabric of space/time, subject to its creator’s biased wants and needs.”

“You what?”

“Let me try my hand at this, Al,” I said. “If I get it a bit wrong, let me know and I’ll correct myself. You cool with that?”

“Of course,” he said.

“Right, Zoe. I’ll do my best to describe it for you. From what I know, the In-Between is essentially Letrodacta’s home away from home. She can mould and shape this universe to benefit her own needs. If she wants to use it to play psychological silly buggers with ex-boyfriends, she can. If she wants to create simulations of places that only exist in her head, she can. If she wants to use it as a cheat code to get around the rules of time travel and travel however far back or forwards she feels like, she can.”

“That is accurate enough,” Al commented.
