Hello, Dear December
Hello, dear December, the last but not the least.
Arriving opportunely when my sorrow is increased,
You give a glimpse of hope, a light within this barren hour,
Sustaining me through Winter, when all other hope has ceased.
Hello, dear December. My heart reserves a place
For your constant optimism, even though you lost the race.
When the march of seasons found you as the final one in line,
Away you stripped their pretense and you proudly showed your face.
Hello, dear December. I see your frigid soul,
And tremble at your power, yet the year is found unwhole
If it lacks the stark displaying of your whim and willful acts.
I expect the unexpected, yet it does not disconsole.
Hello, dear December. I have loved and I have lost.
You tore away my selfish faith, and burned it all to frost.
I now must seek belief anew in that which does not fail,
And hopefully, discover true a faith well worth the cost.
