I’m intrigued by the implications of the lesser intelligence and understanding in the survivors, as if there was not only a large diminishing of cultural memory, but some kind of backwards evolution as well.
I would definitely be interested in seeing this narrative fleshed out a bit more. Perhaps a prequel to describe the process that led to the current condition?

I agree with serif, but I don’t think it is an evolutionary step backwards, but rather that the creatures are in shock and fear and struck dumb. I love the style.
