Silver Lining (Superhero Black Hole, part 117)
“And this is a good thing?,” Zoe said, half-sarcastically, half-seriously.
“It can only mean that the plan is working,” Al said.
“And what is the endgame?,” I asked.
“To kill Letrodacta,” Al stated.
This proposition unnerved me. Maybe it’s part of the same reason that I hesitated when I stood over baby Letrodacta in that hospital so long ago.
“Can’t we just imprison her, or use the antidote on her,” I asked, semi-desperately.
“For god’s sake,” yelled Zoe. “She’s a murdering psychopath; destroyer of physics! She’s got to go!”
“The antidote is what will kill her,” said Al. “There is no cure. Only death.”
“Why are you suddenly so reluctant,” Zoe asked me incredulously.
“He was always reluctant to kill anyone. He overcame it,” Al told us.
I sighed.
I swallowed my unease.
“Do we have any aces up our sleeve,” I asked him.
“We have 2.”
Zoe grinned. “Really?”
Al replied:
“We have the serum in the case. And we have the knowledge that Letrodacta does not know about the parallel universes.”
