One word in giant black letters read: “Single?”
The billboard seemed accusatory and offensive in undertone. To him, the question presupposed that if the answer was “yes”, something should be done (and quickly) to rectify the situation. The billboard would have our commuters believe that the answer was a mere click away.
Within seconds of looking at the sign, he felt exposed. Those massive letters may as well haves said: “Lonely?” Hot with embarrassment, he changed his gaze to the car in front of him.
A girl in a white BMW applied lip gloss in the rearview mirror as they waited for the light to turn. He thought to himself that in all probability she was headed home to her boyfriend; she was planning a wedding and utterly fulfilled.
