Ooh, I like it. The one that got away, or the one you didn’t try hard enough to catch. Very tragic feel to it, even in the broad strokes overview given here. I like that the Hollywood ending would be that they get back together, but here it’s just an end.

this was an attempt to mimic the interrogatory form of the short story “concerning the bodyguard” by donald barthelme. i tried, but failed – if you check out his, you’ll know why. this is what my rewrite became… on the bright side, he’s something of a literary genius, so maybe i was being overly ambitious anyway. :)

I love the third passage. So much emotion is conveyed in that one simple image.
