The Aura: Cryptic Answers

“You up for a chat?” Paula asked, walking into the hospital room after the doctors had checked on John. They had run a million tests and John was starting to get the eerie feeling of being a lab rat.

“I’ve been waiting for someone to explain what in the world is going on.” John quietly stewed, his arms folded across his chest tightly.

Paula smiled apologetically, “Sorry. They needed to make sure you were OK. One of those EMT’s had drugged you so bad, they thought you could have permanent brain and liver damage. Thankfully, the other one figured out what he was doing and took care of the situation.”

John waited for her to continue.

She took a deep breath, “I work for a division called The Company. It’s FBI and Area 51 without the media, basically. Me and a few others were in charge of watching you over the past years. Then you had an unexpected activation from that lightning. You’ve got everyone scrambling to figure out what’s going on. You are radically different from anyone we have ever seen before.”
