"I think a plan is just a list of things that don't happen."

Bank robbery was a Sucker Bet. Seriously, only an asshole would risk a 20-year bid for a couple grand from a bank teller’s drawer. An asshole or an amateur. Same difference.

One-out-of-three bank robbers get picked up by the cops or shot walking out the front door. If not, then you’re walking around with dye packs, bait money, marked bills and a target on your back the size of the entire goddamn Eff Bee Eye.

All that for two large? No way, amigo.

Like I said, Sucker Bet. Unless it’s a Sure Thing. But only suckers believe in Sure Things.

Parker knew that. So did Longbaugh. That didn’t stop either of them from standing here in this bank, waiting on their Sure Thing.

A man’s Most Sacred Principles were worth a shit when he was desperate.

It was a sweet Sure Thing, though. Unless everything went totally tits-up, Parker and Longbaugh would be walking away with a nice score, not a shot fired.

It was a nice little fantasy, while it lasted.

Then Bill came in and kicked their Sure Thing square in the nuts.
