Party of One (Poetry)

Where are you going? And why did you leave?
Is there a better party somewhere out there?
I know you were mine,
But I guess it was time,
For you to move on.

Life’s color’s have dulled to gray,
All the balloons have flown away,
How could I have known,
That you’d leave me someday?

My world is bland without you,
Even though I was left behind,
I’ve still got just one girl on my mind,
If I’m lucky we’ll meet again,
As friends, you were one of a kind,
Always there with a smile,
Trying to make dark days bright,

All I have left is a necklace you used to wear

I listen for the sound of laughter,
I listen for the sound of song,
But silence is the only thing I hear,
All night long.
