Whole Lotta Love

Deafening tones blasted around us,
merrily. The brisk night
air caressed our
flushed cheeks as we
haphazardly rolled down the windows,
laughing
without any cares in the world.
I couldn’t contain myself
as I wrapped myself in
the driver’s thick jacket.
My cheeks ached with the
ghosts of laughter I hadn’t
seen since
the beginning of the summer.
I wasn’t thinking of home
anymore.
