Saunders

Saunders woke as light began to bleed through the crack of his curtains, causing him to cover his eyes and roll the other way. Too bright he thought, it’s always too bright. His room overlooked the harbour, where the sun would rise from across the ocean every day. Unfortunately for him, his house was uncovered and bare – causing him to feel the full brunt of the attack. He hobbled towards his dressing gown, and slipped it on. Impulsively, he reached for a remote control on the side of the counter as he made his way to his kitchen. He pressed it frantically, but nothing happened. Of course it wouldn’t, it had been broken for weeks. Why did he still reach for it everyday then? Maybe his subconscious wished for it so much that he had deluded himself into thinking it was still working. He tossed it to the side haphazardly. Hellfire. Hellfire damnation!
