Hivelings Pt. 2
The queen is, on the other hand, very different. She is very big and is constantly pregnant with new Hivelings. She gives birth once per month and must eat often to keep her children fed as well as herself. She can fly, but her stinger has no poison and she lacks agility, so she cannot defend herself on her own very effectively. That being said, should a human attack her, she can easily devour them.
Her stomach acids are weak, and anyone she gulps down will remain for a week, during which time the prey will be in constant pain from the burn of the acids.
Sooner or later, her children in her womb are actually eaten, one by one, by a much stronger child who, when born, will grow up to devour the queen and take her place. The guards who do not side with her become her lunch.
