Jessy raised an eyebrow. “Well, you are his friend, right?” she pointed out. She put two pancakes on a plate and placed it in front of Cassidy.
“Well, yes…” Cassidy admitted, “but I mean I think he has a crush on me.”
Jessy smiled. “And do you feel the same wsy?” she asked, a playful tone in her voice.
“Well, he is kinda cute,” Cassidy said, blushing a little. “But it’s too early to really make any decisions like that…”
Jessy smiled and ruffled her daughter’s hair. “That’s rather mature,” she said. “I honestly agree, but you two would be a good couple…” She winked.
“Mooooom…” Cassidy complained, giving her a desperate look.
Jessy laughed. “Just meesin’ with ya, kiddo. Anyways…” she said, slinging a bag over her shoulder and picking up a set of car keys. “I’m off to work.” She kissed Cassidy on the forehead. “Love you.”
She left, leaving Cassidy to think.
