Giant Red Sun

Most of my life I had nightmares with the same scenario. I knew the world was ending but felt the urgent need to escape New York City. I never made it out in time.

How beautiful for me it was to be far up in the mountains when I learned of Earth’s fate. From up here I could simply sit back and watch civilization burn. The best part was the view.

Watching the Moon actually break apart and then watching the pieces fall to Earth was truly inspiring. As the Moon fell everything she stood for fell as well. This was the end of life itself.

Watching the Sun expand into a Giant Red Sun left me in trembling awe at power beyond anything I could ever hope to understand. Now the Oceans are boiling off.

It won’t be long now. Soon the Earth will be whisked away like a speck of dust. We had our chance to prove we deserved to exist. I wonder if once we’re gone our memories will be erased as well? I feel no guilt, shame, nor regret.

Where are you my dear friend Laurossel?
