Unwanted
“But David…I…I…Why?” I stuttered, unable to believe what was happening.
“I’m sorry Kalyla. It’s just not right anymore. You know? You’re not in the wrong here, I’ve just changed.” David shrugged, as if that could dismiss the issue at hand.
“It’s not you, it’s me. Wow, very original, David. I thought you were above the most average and overused cliche, but I guess I was wrong. About a lot of things.” I spun on my heel and walked away quickly. I hate to admit it, but I was fighting back the sting in my eyes. I wish I could be more dignified, but I’m a teenage girl, what did you expect?
Besides, this wasn’t news. No one wanted me around. I was always disposed of after a short while. Was I too boring? Or did people get to know who I really was, and that was too much for them?
Still, I had thought David was different. Wait, am I being cliche, now, too? Whatever. It’s not like it matters.
No one wants me. And I guess I have to live to deal with it.
