Another look into the world of Space-Time Bending. I loved your explanation and how this one was able to return… albeit much too late. Make you think about if we ever had a Mission to Mars, they said who ever went would never be able to return. It’d be a one way trip.
Great job! I liked seeing the POV switch and the extra details that you added, although I have to say that the guy is kind of a douche for leaving her like that…
Dude,I really hope she lied on her tombstone…How do you live with something like that, knowing that someone pined their whole life for you? Very deep waters here….
Which I am told means, “We choose to love, we do not choose to cease loving.”
I know from personal experience this is true. Love is a decision you make, that once made cannot be undone. I am still in love with my first love from high school. I still love my wife, though I have been divorced from her for longer than we were married and she is now someone elses wife.
True in Rome, true for me now. And so, perhaps true for this story.
It feels like it wasn’t meant for Ficly. Like it should be longer. Not too much longer, but still longer. Still very good, and a welcome addition to a subject that’s been the topic of scifi for ages.
I agree ……..true loves lives on inside you forever and it cannot be tuned off. I have also lived it and never knew it until I tried to turn it off. Good work!
I heard a guy on NPR talking about the “one way trip” to space, and how he would DEFINITELY go… surprised me a little bit! I really like this, Ducky, though I agree with Oreos that the guy is a turd.
