My Family

I have a normal family.
We live the life; it’s swell!
I’ll tell you ‘bout my family
If you promise not to tell.
Your average lower middle class.
Well, at least for now.
My mommy might just lose her job.
She’s sinkin’ with the DOW.
She also goes to therapy,
She smokes and eats and drinks
I’m scared she’s gonna drink too much
and smoke too much I think.
My siblings all have A.D.D.,
my stepdad has it too.
My daddy left before my birth;
I wish he’d get a clue.
They say my cousin is autistic
and my uncle, well, he’s gay.
Now my aunt is all alone
I know she’ll find someone someday.
And don’t get me started on myself;
it’s just too much to tell.
But I know someday when I die,
I’m gonna go the hell.
And that’s it for my family,
We’re stickin’ with the flow.
Who woulda guessed “dysfunctional,”
Is on the status quo?
