I remember reading about Ficlets and thinking wow, what an awesome idea, I’ll go join right away! But then I discovered that the site was shut down.

I was thrilled when I discovered that it had been resurrected as ficly.com.

I love this place.

Thanks, guys. Seriously it was hard to fit into the 1024 character limit. There was so much to say about the loss of ficlets, but I’m glad that what I have still conveyed what I was trying to say pretty well.

It was a dark time indeed, so many people in withdrawal, suffering in shadows, taunted by their very keyboards and white Word documents.. shudders.

You know them? ::sigh:: They were great. Definitely my favorite, though I always wondered why they weren’t together… and what their genders were xD I kinda assumed guy x girl, respectively, but then that makes more questions.

I shall forever never be one of the cool kids, for I am a newbie; fresh meat, I missed the boat and never heard of ficlets until after I had joined ficly. The battles I have missed, the loves I never knew, the debates I never took part in… I shall never be participant, just a spectator, a tourist. And so I move on with my own story, moving ever forwards while looking ever backwards.

YodaOnCrack is pretty familiar though, I think I used to play Counterstrike with him.

Don’t worry, Difs, there is no need to want to have been part of ficlets. That’s like wanting to be part of WWII. We, like the Jews, were pretty much exterminated from the internet for no reason other than “cut funding” which I find to be bull shit. The guys here, Kevin, Joe, Jason, they were the Allies who freed what was left of us. It was really tragic. We love you just the same as the previous Ficleteers. Don’t feel like you’ve missed out on joining some special exclusive group. <3
