Oh, the Vogonity. -sigh-
For a second there I thought it was an old West shoot out. You have a knack for letting your poems remain appropriately vague.
thanks thx that is a great compliment.
Too cool for words. Wish I could write poetry like this. (My one attempt today will probably be my only one for the next 5 years.) Great read, as always, MJY.
thanks pheonix
AHAHA VOGONITY Anyway, good poem. I loved it. I pictured a clock with a cowboy on the face of it, his hands holding guns as they told the time. But that was only part of it.

Oh hey man, congrats on 100th story by the way!! I do believe this is quite a good tale… or poem, rather.
I thought it was a little kid dressed up as a cowboy on the porch waiting to play with dad..
it is to me elsha i used to wait for my dad on the porch every day with full roy rogers outfit an batman beach towel cape.
Aww… :-)
I agree with Elsha, that’s what my impression was as well. Mainly because of the terrycloth cape and rubber boots.
Took me a couple of reads to edge into this, but I love the mix of inexorable waiting-sense and noise – clunkiness in the too-long silence. So nice.
thanx nella
