When faced with restraints that you no longer consider reasonable, you have choices to make. Do I remove myself from the society, ala Jeremiah Johnson or an émigré from an Islamic country, and move to a location beyond its reach, or do I change the society in which I live.

The sons of liberty thought that the society they created in the new world was superior to that of the UK. They were prepared to spend their wealth and their blood to form or preserve a society that they chose.
Each generation faces similar choices. That is why, as jefferson said, the tree of liberty must, from time to time be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots.
Vegetius said, “Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum”. Or in english, If you want peace, prepare for war.
