My Joy
“Whee!” Cried Emanuel as I pushed him down the slide. The joy that a 4-year old little child can give to a parent in need is wonderful. “Jesus has blessed me with a wonderful son!” I told him. Emanuel ran around the swings twice yelling “Mommy push me!” “I’m coming!” I said vigorously. As I pushed I ruminated on what had happened to me 5 years ago. I had been kicked out my parent’s house, kicked out of school, I got pregnant, and I couldn’t get an abortion. The father of Emanuel had left me 3 months after I got pregnant and I felt hopeless. I went to my Grandmother’s house in need and she told me about The Lord and all the wonderful things he could do for me. If only I got to know him myself. I was lost and miserable. Then I gave my life to The Lord. 6 month’s later I went into labor. During labor, I prayed to God to help me find my joy. I gave birth to Emanuel. When I first saw him, I cried. He was so handsome. He was a pure miracle. I finally realized God had answered my prayer. I found my hope. My joy.
