Elsha this might be your genre, check you out. I really like the way you incorporated you other elsha hawk cia super spy persona into your hight tech slick shit cyberpunk dna and credit card killing pick pocket.
You mean FLEX your muscles? This was a good story, perhaps you should write in this genre more. It seems to be your thing; you have a knack for this. Bravo!!!
Thank you Scott! And 2AM my time, so I guess Australia and New Zealand read my stuff? Heh, only when America sleeps can I surpass the British muffins. Go international fans!
very interesting to say the least. the question nagging in my mind is how he was just able to do that. lots of questions left unsaid which makes for an awesome ficlet =)
High tech. Most x-rays would just fry the electronics. Leave a lot of headaches in the wake of the thief. It would probably be difficult (impossible?) to read the data on the various computing systems using x-rays, but this sort of this IS possible with radio receivers.
So I’m gonna pretend that you said radio waves and encourage you to continue with your nefarious plots.
In a future where identity theft is commonplace, what’s the value of identity anyway? Either you’re anonymous, or you’re everyone. Hmm, story idea? ;-) Great job with this one, by the way!
great story, but considering how short a segment ficly allows us to write, i was left wanting more action from you… i wanted more than seeing ur cloak blow in the wind and acknowledging your identity has been stolen.
“i” was stealing the identities, eclectickid :) and I don’t even know what action I would put in! This was a “write what you see” moment. I just captured what I had figured out thus far. I don’t even know what would be theft-worthy in a future society, I had to make it relatable and believable, so identity theft came to mind first. Plus, I really wanted to sell the scene, setting, distraction, generic noir character, so I put my emphasis there. I’m not very good at action scene, living a passive existence!
I haven’t been on ficly in a while, as you know, but this was fantastic! The futuristic sci-fi created a whole other world and I liked the fresh take on identify theft.
