It’s interesting. Fast-paced, too, so it goes well with the concepts of cars and speed (which are present in the story, if I’m correct in my interpretation).
This is one of those stories that you read and think ‘God, how did you write that?’ Liked the complexity, although, I’m not going to lie, it lost me a little along the way…
I like the idea of writing a future story in future English. Language evolves, and it’s a safe guess that with the advent of txtspk that it might look something like this. (A terrifying thought.) As much as I could follow, I liked. :-)
Hey reginald, look if you were afraid we wouldn’t understand, maybe it isn’t because your audience is so far below you, but it is a byproduct of your short comings as a writer. Look when i hear a radiohead song i dont like i just chalk it up to the possibility that I can’t comprehend their godliness. Reginald you are no Radiohead, I know you think you are a God but you fall short. Really you fell victim to one of the classic blunders… 1st…never get in a land war in Asia 2nd…only slightly less well known is never make your reader feel below you. you Reggie have sinned and been found wanting. I said at the beginning of this challenge everyone would get five pencils, because hope is the new technology, but you only get one.
I don’t know what made you think I was attempting to make my reader feel below below me, but that wasn’t my intention at all. If it was unintelligible or difficult to follow, then that’s something I need to work on. I honestly don’t know what bone you have to pick with me, but I can assure you, you’re barking up the wrong tree.
Unless this is just the subconscious promptings of the characters, I would hate to see English so fractured, losing all of its eloquent subtlety. If you want to talk philosophy, use English or Russian. If you want to talk snow, use Eskimo. It would be a shame to lose the ability to discuss philosophy in English.
Actually all to take the heat off Reginald( and i really do not crave cyberpunk)I think he is using nuspeak to relay his motor chase and capitulation of his adversary in much the same way that road rage is happening in the world . Now put the heat on me for upsetting the applecart.
